April Sales are in for Ride On

book on deskHere is a quick update on my sales for April 2013 for Ride On. I intentional did not do much in the world of promotions this month just to see what might happen.  Well I had my best month of sales for the kindle version. (A price of $2.99 didn’t hurt non either) My Amazon and personal paperback sales was my lowest since I began.  I think I will keep it at these price points for a time now and see how it goes.

I am staying on track to meet my reasonable goal of averaging one sale per day for the first year.  Remember I don’t share these numbers to brag, because they aren’t really bragging material. I just want to share with those that might be interested in writing a book and give you some expectations of what might be.

1558 Ride On Books in Circulation!

Book CoverWell we went worldwide this last month! With sales in several different international markets.

I played with the pricing this last month and seemed to have locked into $2.99 for the kindle version. I am getting less profit per book but seem to be selling more. So doing better over all.  By the end of the month I put the paperback back to $11.99. Because Amazon plays with the discounts this price seems to work since they usually put it below $10.00.  Check out my Amazon Author page here.

I also got several pastors that were previously unknown  to me and not from my denomination order books for their church. It has been crazy getting comments, emails, reviews and recommendations from people who I don’t even know!

Well here are my sales figures thus far. Why do I share this?  Because so many people ask the question. Many of you are looking at being authors and this will give you a realistic view at what might be. You write because you feel like you have something to share, not to make a living!

Amazon motorcycle search rankings for Ride On

I have been sharing this week about the sales of my free e-book promotion I had this last weekend. Together we gave out 905 free eBooks. This is why I continue to tell people who ask that I “We-Published” this book not “Self-Published”.  No one can do this alone. That is really true when it comes to the promotion and distribution of your book.

The number 905 is pretty cool but also I want to share with you these numbers. As you know if people can’t find your product easily enough you won’t get it into their hands. On Monday I did some Amazon searching for by book under different key words and you will see the results below.

The ones that really stand out are when you search for ‘Ride On’ you actually can find my book. This was not the case before the free promotion and you leaving reviews. (As of Monday I am even higher than James Patterson.) When you put in ‘motorcycle’ you will also find it a couple of pages in. I am next to some classic motorcycle books and manuals! If you are in the top 12 you show up on the first search page. Check these out and let’s celebrate together.

Ride On (16,501) 1-Kindle 75-Paperback

Motorcycle(14,545) 43-Kindle 205-Paperback

Motorcycle Ride(4255) : 1-Kindle  16-Paperback

Motorcycle Rides (4255) : 7-Kindle 19-Paperback

Motorcycle Journey(416): 1-Kindle 19 Paperback

Motorcycle Journeys(416): 4-Kindle 21-Paperback

(the number in the parenthesis is the total number of items that come up when you search for that word)

Help me keep those rankings up a bit longer by leaving a review on Amazon.

Two more days added to free motorcycle book, Ride On

Book CoverWell yesterday was a lot of fun. We were overwhelmed with the amount people who shared our free e-book with their friends.  Hundreds of people have downloaded Ride On as of today. I will give a detailed post later this week when we are done.

Christy and I would rather get this out to people than have it sit on the digital shelf. So we have decided to keep this offer of a free e-book available until midnight (pst) Sunday.  Here is a post as to why we are giving it out for free if you were wondering. One reason I don’t mention in that post is…there are billions of people in the world and if a couple thousand get it for free there are still more people! So no lose in potential buyers. Only more people who can talk about the book.

Thanks for continuing to share it with your friends and followers.
