AGrowingFamily is back doing what got this blog started years ago talking about…gardening. Here in our staging area for the seed starts. Given that we still have snow on the ground I am starting all the seeds a few weeks later than what is recommended. I got some peppers, broccoli several different tomatoes and various herbs growing.
I would love to show you pictures of the garden but I don’t have it tilled, fenced or even close to being ready because of the several feet of snow still in the spot where it is going. I am a bit worried that my soil will not be up to speed like I wanted but will deal with that on the fly.
As for now I wait in anticipation as these little guys start sprouting in the light of the southern window.
What is in a name? Well if it has a bamboo, bean, or trellis in it I guess it is really unique.
Since the writing of this one article back in March 8, 2010 it has been my number one blog of all time. Most everyday someone online searches for instruction on how to make a bamboo trellis for their climbing beans and they find me.
This over all goal of our family blog has always been about what new and crazy things we are doing as a family and it all started with our backyard farm we were making at our urban Washington homestead. I never knew years later people would still be referring to our “old” blogs.
I guess that is why if you are in the blog world making sure you have good titles and tags is pretty important. Here are my view stats for this particular blogs. It has been my top blog every year.
The funny (or at least I think it is funny) is that I called this a bean poll and actually planted peas.
It is a small garden but it will have to do this year. We will not be around much this summer so this will fun to have a few things coming up.
Pulled my onion and garlic recently. Got about 60 onions and 20 heads of garlic. The taste is great. It is weird to see an empty raised bed in my backyard.
Trying to now decide if it was worth it to take up a whole bed for so long.
