We are a family of five that live in Rhinelander WI. We decided in 2009 to grow our family and take in foster kids as well as take our bare back yard and start growing some other things. With the first year down we have had 7 different kids and a lot of tomatoes to show for it. We thought we would share some of our experiences with the kids and the vegetables.
Since the beginning we have had over 20 foster kids, several season of growing vegetables, having animals in our suburban back yard (until we were told that was against our neighborhood association, and help start a foster care ministry. These were great years of growth for all of us.
In July 0f 2011 we decided to move back home and start all over again. Doing community with a house open is the way we role. Also looking to others ways to do life more simply, living off the land, and caring for those that are without home is top priority.
