Our Family

We are a family of five that live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.  We decided in 2009 to grow our family and take in foster kids as well as take our bare back yard and start growing some other things. With the first year down we have had 7 different kids and a lot of tomatoes to show for it.

We thought we would share some of our experiences with the kids and the vegetables. From there it just kept rolling. What else could we endeavor to do and grow as a family. Much of what we share are areas that we stepping out into. We are always up for new challenges and seeing growth in us as individuals and a family.

Since the beginning we have had over 20 foster kids, several season of growing vegetables, having animals in our suburban back yard (until we were told that was against our neighborhood association, and help start a foster care ministry. These were great years of growth for all of us.

In July of 2011 we decided to move back home and start all over again.

Doing community with a house open is the way we role. Also looking to others ways to do life more simply, living off the land, experiencing new hobbies and caring for those that are without are top priorities.

We blog about motorcycles, gardens, root beer, family, Theodore Roosevelt, hunting, outdoors, organizations that help others, writing, books, Jesus, and other random things we are doing that might inspire you to live life to the fullest. Yes it is a broad, but we are constantly growing!
